                "Back in Black",

or just "Good to be back Home"

Coach Harrison returns to a familiar site in Greensboro Georgia, make that Siloam, Georgia, where he coached from 2004 through 2006. The Patriots finished in the final 4 two years and played for the State Title one year.

"As of Friday 1-29-2010, I received a 14 man roster to work with including 9th graders, so needless to say, this will be another fun challenge, but one thing I know about the NGA kids, They are going to have some country boy fight in them"!!!

Hi folks! My name is "Larry Harrison" and I'm a high school football coach in the great state of Georgia. Inside these pages I hope to have a little fun, and just throw some general information around about football, the "double wing offense" that I run as well as other football related things. This  site will also contain events of my football life, my football history, and NOW I've been hired to return to the home of my first head high school coaching job. After being contacted during 2009 mid season by a NGA alumni and former player, he put the wheels in motion for a return to the beautiful country side of Greensboro Georgia to coach the Patriots once again. Being in mid season with a great group of young kids, I dismissed the Idea and didn't think about it further until immediately after the 2009 season ended, I was contacted by Tim Brown, who was very instrumental in my first hiring at NGA. We had several talks and Tim's Brother Greg, Now Chairman of the board at NGA, also contacted me about coming back. As fate always has it, things happen favorably for the change and for the right reasons and everything fell into place perfectly for the change. I am very excited about the challenge ahead, and getting to know my new kids. Several of the players were water boys for us the first go round. That is really something to come back 3 years later and see the young ones taking the reins. Obviously with 14 kids on my present roster, I'd like to encourage anyone interested in coming to NGA or even former players that have left and possibly want to return to come on out, for there is plenty of room and playing time available for sure!        I'd like to thank all the NGA parents, players, alumni, and fans for such a tremendous welcome back on Friday. I am back home coaching football at Nat Greene.

This site started as very small simple family site but with coaching, and incorporating my football, it quickly became my football site... I had noticed that many coaches and teams had a site and the various football coaching sites so, hey, I figured I had to get one too. I think the main thing that launched it into this football site is the learning and the teaching of the offense, and defense I run. From the beginning of my coaching life, I've had certain very ingrained ideas about coaching and getting the most out of kids, and these ideas were developed from having very good youth and high school coaches and later having my ideas pan out in very successful campaigns. I have learned to live with the criticism of being a bit unorthodox, but believe me, everything I do coaching  is for a very good reason. No, it may not look exactly like the NFL but what I do, and what I think any good coach should do, is to give your kids the best possible chance to be successful. I'm not real concerned about how pretty it is, or if I'm preparing one individual for a career or if I look like some big-time pro football coach. I'm concerned about the team and all the kids as well as our representation of our parents and school. I am concerned about bringing success to our program and having the kids have fun playing football. If we have a standout athlete, he will stand out. If we don't, the team will still stand out because of our preparation. This policy has never failed me or any other coach I've admired over the years. What I have learned is that with the right preparation and approach to this game and a good communication with the kids themselves, you end up with many standout kids not just the one special kid, that is going to be great anyway!
